AMD 12-Core Processor

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is developing processors with 12 cores which are targeted for release in the first half of 2010. This new plan has deviated from the original product vision of 8-core chips. The 12-core processor is code-named Magny-Cours. The chip will include 12MB of L3 cache and support DDR3 RAM During the second half of 2009 AMD is set to release a 6-core chip code-named Istanbul
